Combating Imposter Syndrome Through Personal Branding

Description

Paula Edgar, CUNY Law '06, will conduct an interactive workshop on building one's personal brand to fuel a successful job search.

Students studying for a professional career in any discipline often doubt the credentials they have worked so hard to build. "Do I belong in this setting," they might ask themselves, or "can I really make the grade as a professional?" These normal feelings of self-doubt must be overcome for a job search to be as successful as possible.

Paula Edgar is a CUNY Law alum (06) with experience practicing employment and workplace discrimination law. She is currently the CEO of PG Consulting Group LLC, a firm specializing in professional development and diversity, equity, and inclusion training. She hosts the Branding Room Only podcast, dedicated to sharing career stories, strategies, and lessons learned on how industry leaders and influencers have built their personal brands. Paula will conduct an interactive workshop on how to build one's personal brand to propel a successful job search. Students will emerge from the workshop with tangible tools for authentic self-promotion and self-advocacy in the professional workplace.
